The well-known domestic visually impaired choir group “Spread Wings” sung at the High Speed Rail Tainan Station on the afternoon of 22nd. The twelve members of the group sang with angelic voices attracting many visitors who gave them warm applauses.
The head of the choir Ceng, Shen Rong said that the group was established in 2001, the members are visually impaired friends who share a love for music and singing. Among them are teachers, Braille proofreaders and massage workers. The members feel gratitude for the social care that they receive and feel grateful for not being subject to due to their blindness.
Ceng, Shen Rong further said, since 2005, the group had often visited various prisons, detention centers. They hope that they can inspire inmates to correct and cherish their lives through their songs. In recent years, the group had performed in schools, hospitals, social welfare agencies, and in remote areas. Their performances are to contribute to the community and to tell everyone never give up the pursuit of a bright life.
The representative of High Speed Rail Tainan Station explained, since 2009 the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation began sponsoring “Spread Wings” Choir group. Last year they sponsored the group to show at Pingtung Prison, Kaohsiung Women''s Prison. They will continue to sponsor their performances this year. The choir group is scheduled to perform at Pingtung Alegre Auditorium, Tainan Open Prison, and Taichung School for the Blind on public performances.
